Our Story
Founded in 2019 in Kirkuk, Green Hands Union began as a youth-led volunteer
initiative with a simple yet powerful goal: to raise environmental awareness and take action against climate challenges in Iraq. What started as local tree-planting and awareness campaigns quickly grew into a nationwide movement.
Over the years, our team has expanded to Sulaymaniyah, Basra, and Baghdad, launching projects that support farmers, promote sustainable practices, and empower youth through education and volunteering. We’ve built strong partnerships and developed innovative solutions to protect natural resources and promote climate resilience.
Today, Green Hands Union stands as a vibrant platform for youth-driven environmental change—committed to building a greener, fairer future for all.
